Sinopsis
Érase una vez el futuro es una antología de historias de ficción escritas para niños y niñas de 7-12 años e inspiradas en la investigación de seis científicos en sostenibilidad (los autores!). Cada historia está rociada de humor y realismo mágico, acompañada con preciosas ilustraciones y complementada de recursos educacionales con preguntas y juegos. Usando un lenguaje simple a la vez que dinámico, cada historia transmite conocimientos sobre economía circular, desarrollo rural, cultura y tradiciones textiles, prácticas procomún en bosques, conservación de la biodiversidad y regeneración, la implicación juvenil en la gobernanza urbana y la importancia de los valores y la imaginación para la lideranza para la sostenibilidad.

Has a doctorate in Geography & Planning from the Sustainable Places Research Institute, Cardiff University, where her research focused on city-regional planning and development. Interested in governance and participation, Lorena looked for windows of opportunity to engage young people in conversations about the future of their areas. Her story is inspired by the young people she came across, as well as the worldwide Fridays for Future climate movements. After completing her PhD, Lorena worked on education and innovation projects at IMDEA Food Madrid, through an EIT Food Fellowship.

Is a social scientist working for transdisciplinary sustainability projects since 2013, with extensive fieldwork experience in Finland, Italy, and China. She is currently completing her PhD with the Rural Sociology Group at Wageningen University (NE), and she is External Researcher at the Natural Resources Institute Finland - Luke. Whether focusing on social innovation & rural development, on sustainability impact assessment, or on climate vulnerability, the red thread in Angela's work is the design, use, and evaluation of participatory and action-oriented methods.

Somos seis investigadores de áreas de formación muy diferentes, que hicieron parte de un proyecto europeo de investigación europeo llamado SUSPLACE ("sustainable place-shaping"). Nuestro objetivo era investigar por qué y cómo personas y comunidades deciden involucrarse en transformar sus territorios en lugares más sostenibles y regenerativos. Cada uno de nosotros investiga diferentes temas interconectados.

is an environmental engineer with a vision to erase the concept of waste from our society. In the past 10 years she has worked on sanitation, wastewater treatment and reuse, and sustainable place-shaping projects in Europe and in Africa. She is currently finishing her PhD on the topics of circular economy and urban nutrient cycles, and working towards a post-graduate certificate on Science Communication and Education, both at KU Leuven, Belgium. Parallel to her PhD work, she has been organizing, hosting, and taking part in several science and science communication related events in Belgium.

Has been described as a troubadour for sustainability. Co-founder of reimaginary.com - resources and methods for cultivating cultures of sustainability. In the past, she's been a successful community hub and cafe owner (The Sentient Bean), a consultant and sustainability expert in international economic development (Economic Transformations Group), and a researcher in sustainability science ( Susplace ), amongst other eclectic activities that she could tell you about over a cup of tea. Currently, she is working towards her PhD on the topic of transformative imagination and storytelling.

Is a multidisciplinary globetrotter researching sustainability and for a more just society. He has a MSc in Sustainable Development from the Utrecht University in the Netherlands and has been researching rural development and agricultural policies around the world since then. He is currently a consultant at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and recently started a permaculture farm “La permafattoria” in the Umbria region of Italy contributing towards being the change he would like to see in the world.
